Water Meter Replacement Project

As you may know, the City of Dover is changing its water metering system. This system gives a more accurate, timely and useful method for monitoring and managing water usage.

The City of Dover Water Meter Crew is performing the exchange. Newman Plumbing was contracted in 2022 to exchange a portion of the meters, our city crew is able to finish the project.

The water meter replacement is mandatory and is of no charge to you. The City of Dover Meter Crew will need access to your water meter in your home/business for replacement. This takes around 20 minutes and an adult needs to be present. The crew will be sending out information with scheduling and contact information for the area that they are working in.

The home or business will need to ensure there is access to the existing water meter. It is the home or business owner’s responsibility to ensure that the main shutoff before the water meter is in working order before they arrive (Dover Ordinance 925.14, Section A).

We appreciate your co-operation with this program.
